Small wholesale from China
Wholesale Promotional Gifts From China in Small Batches
This page is for small importers, gift shops, print workshops, event agencies and resellers who want wholesale promotional gifts from China without a container-sized order. Small wholesale here means tens to a few hundred pieces of each item, such as logo mugs, canvas tote bags, metal badges, acrylic keychains, notebooks, gift boxes or boxed gift sets. One order usually mixes several items from several sellers on Taobao and 1688.
We act as your buying agent inside China, which is the part a small buyer struggles to do from abroad. We read the Chinese listing, check the exact variant and the seller, buy from several sellers in one purchase, receive and inspect the goods at our warehouse, then consolidate and ship them together. We do not own or run a factory, and we cannot promise that a seller will keep the same stock or price while you decide.
Who buys promotional gifts in small wholesale lots
Event, school and club organisers
Organisers of conferences, school open days, sports clubs and community events typically buy canvas tote bags, notebooks, pens, metal badges and team T-shirts in lots of tens to a few hundred. Their worry is the calendar: a delay can miss the event, and a design printed with a year or date cannot be reused if the date moves.
Staff recognition and client gifting teams
HR and marketing teams buy insulated tumblers, engraved pens, medals, anniversary badges and boxed gift sets for staff and clients, usually tens to a couple of hundred per item. They want to know exactly what is inside a boxed set, whether names can be engraved one by one, and whether personal-care items such as hand cream raise import questions at home.
Gift shops and party resellers
Shop owners, market sellers and wedding or party planners buy empty favour boxes, mugs, acrylic keychains and enamel pins to resell or fill themselves. They order several designs in small lots and start with a sample. Their worries are box dimensions, festival designs such as Christmas keychains that stop selling after the season, and cartoon artwork whose licensing status we cannot verify.
How a small wholesale order works
Share listing links and artwork
Send the Taobao or 1688 links, your logo file and the quantities. We read the Chinese title, list the variants (size, colour, material, with or without lid), and note whether the customisation is printing, engraving or embroidery and whether the displayed price covers it.
Check the seller and the proof
We look at the seller's shop and the exact variant, ask what artwork setup, minimum per design and sample terms apply, and request a digital proof or a single sample before the full run. For boxed sets we ask the seller for a written list of what goes inside.
Receive and inspect in China
Parcels from every seller arrive at our warehouse, where we count the pieces and compare logo and colour with the approved proof. We also look for damage common to these goods, such as chipped ceramic, scratched metal or crushed gift boxes. Deeper inspection or repacking is optional and charged.
Consolidate and ship together
Tote bags, mugs, badges and boxes from different sellers go into one shipment, which usually lowers the cost per unit compared with shipping each parcel alone. Textiles, ceramics, metal and paper items can fall under different tariff codes, so ask your customs broker to classify each item before you order.
Wholesale promotional gifts by destination market
Landed cost depends on where the goods are going. Each guide covers the taxes, paperwork, product rules and routes for one market.

Wholesale promotional gifts: questions
What does small wholesale mean when buying gifts from China?
It means ordering tens to a few hundred pieces per item instead of a container load. Minimums are set by the seller for each variant, and many Taobao sellers sell single pieces, so a test order is possible. Prices may step down with quantity. Customised items often carry their own terms, so confirm the minimum for your logo version, not just for the blank item.
Can I put my own logo on wholesale promotional gifts?
Often yes. The listings we have seen name logo printing, engraving, embroidery or painted enamel for mugs, tumblers, bags, pens, badges and notebooks. Terms differ by seller, so we confirm the method, print area, any setup charge and the minimum for your design, and ask for a proof or sample before the full run goes ahead.
How do I estimate the landed cost of wholesale promotional gifts?
Add the goods price, domestic China freight, international freight, insurance, import duty, import VAT or GST, and local clearance and delivery charges. Listing prices we have seen run from about US$0.14 for a keychain to about US$61 for a boxed pen, as observed on the listing and never a quote. Duty depends on tariff classification, so ask a customs broker.
Are mugs, badges and gift sets subject to import product rules?
Some can be. Drinkware, items for children, anything worn on the body and personal-care items such as the toothpaste or hand cream in some gift sets may fall under product-safety, chemical or labelling rules in your country. We cannot give a ruling for your market, so check with a customs broker or the national authority, because rules change.
