What we can help you buy on 1688

1688 candles wholesale

Candles and reed diffusers look like one category and fail in completely different ways: the wax one is a goods-quality problem, the liquid one is a transport problem.

Both are decidable before the run starts. A burn test settles the first and a safety data sheet settles the second.

What we check before you pay

The wax blend, not the word on the tin

"Soy wax" on a 1688 listing is very often a soy and paraffin blend, and the ratio is rarely stated. We ask for the blend percentage and the melt point, because the melt point decides how it burns and whether it arrives intact out of a summer container.

Metal-cored wicks carry a US rule with a label attached

Metal-cored candlewicks are a banned hazardous substance in the US unless the core is no more than 0.06 percent lead by weight and the shipping carton is marked "Conforms to 16 CFR 1500.17(a)(13)". The marking goes on the outer carton, which makes it something inspection can see rather than something a certificate claims.

Wick size is only proven by burning one

A wick too small tunnels and wastes most of the wax; too large and it smokes and blackens the glass. Neither shows in a photograph and neither is fixable after the run, so we burn sampled units to a full melt pool and photograph what happens.

The fragrance decides the route

A liquid with a flash point at or below 60 °C travels as a flammable liquid, and a reed diffuser base can fall on either side of that line depending on its solvent. Finished candles usually do not. We read the flash point off the seller's safety data sheet before quoting rather than discovering it at the forwarder.

Glass that survives the burn and the journey

A vessel has to take the thermal shock of a full melt pool and then a container voyage. Wall thickness, whether the glass is annealed and how the units are packed are all specifiable, and a cracked vessel is the most common arrival complaint in this category.

The label and the box are one decision

A gift candle sells on its packaging, and the same printed surfaces carry the burn warnings your market expects to see. Print, structure and warning text are specified and sampled together rather than treating the box as an afterthought.

How an order runs

  1. Send the reference and the market A 1688 link or a candle you want matched, the quantity, the fragrance, and where it will be sold — the market decides what has to be on the label.
  2. Wax, wick and fragrance specified Blend and melt point, wick type sized to the vessel diameter, and fragrance percentage written into the order rather than left to the factory.
  3. Safety data sheet before pricing We ask for the SDS on the fragrance or the diffuser base and read the flash point off it, because that decides which routes and carriers will take the shipment.
  4. Burn a sample Sampled units burned to a full melt pool and timed: tunnelling, soot, flame height and scent throw, photographed before the run starts.
  5. Quote and approval Goods, fragrance, vessel, branding, our service fee, inspection, consolidation and freight, itemised on a route that will actually accept the goods.
  6. Consolidate and ship Glass candles are heavy and they break. Inner packing and carton count are agreed before production, not after the first damaged arrival.
